Leaving Adelaide behind, guests can relax, unwind and enjoy world- class service as the stunning landscapes glide by. Lap up the wild and spectacular scenery of the Grampians region, with its ancient sandstone mountains and diverse native wildlife.
OFF TRAIN EXPERIENCES
The Grampians: Today guests will experience the spectacular wilderness of the Grampians region. Enjoy a breathtaking walk in the natural surrounds, take in the panoramic views of the Grampians, or sample some of the region’s best wines before reboarding the Great Southern for dinner.
Canberra: Enjoy a drive through the countryside on the way to the nation’s capital where guests will enjoy a visit to Parliament House and lunch before a choice of tours at some of Canberra’s most iconic places, such as the National War Memorial and Parliament House.
Coffs Harbour and Surrounds: Guests can opt for the Boardwalk to Beach experience, stopping at the small station of Urunga to take in the spectacular coastline views and Great Dividing Range along the Urunga Boardwalk before travelling to Coffs Harbour for a relaxing morning wandering around the Harbourside Markets, historic jetty or simply relaxing by the seaside.
The Coffs Explorer experience travels up to Sealy Lookout offering views for miles from the Forest Sky Pier before travelling back to Coffs for time to explore the markets, historic jetty or relax by the beach. Otherwise, guests can simply make the most of Coffs Harbour’s beautiful beaches with an entire morning spent seaside. Wander along the coast, have a dip in the ocean, play a game of beach cricket or simply relax on the sand.
BRISBANE TO ADELAIDE

Guests will embrace the wonders of Australia’s south-east and enjoy the unique experiences of the Great Southern. Departing Brisbane, guests travel south into the rolling hills of New South Wales before indulging in an incredible beachside dining experience in Coffs Harbour.
OFF TRAIN EXPERIENCES
Coffs Harbour: As the sun dips beneath the horizon, guests enjoy a unique beachside dinner where they’ll feast on local produce and fresh seafood matched with fine wines, while the waves lap at the shore nearby for a few leisurely hours.
Hunter Valley Wine Region: Meander through the picturesque and historic vineyards of the Hunter Valley. The day includes cellar door experiences, winery tours and a sumptuous lunch.
Port Stephens by Land or Sea: Guests can choose to either travel to Nelson Bay and enjoy a relaxing cruise or head to Stockton Bight Sand Dunes where they’ll explore the beach by 4WD van, stopping to hunt for pippies and driving to the tops of sand dunes. Relax and enjoy a magnificent lunch with a view before returning to the train.
Newcastle Explorer: Take in spectacular coastal views and discover Newcastle’s unique blend of old and new with a guided walking tour and sumptuous lunch before free time to explore the city.
Regional Victoria or Melbourne: Guests will enjoy breakfast on board as they travel through Victoria’s high country. On arrival into regional Victoria, they’ll have the choice of Off Train Experiences including wine touring and gourmet delights, visits to natural sights and charming towns. Or they can opt to visit cosmopolitan Melbourne to take in the soaring views from Eureka Skydeck, a tour of the National Gallery of Victoria or enjoy free time to explore the city.
