There are two main 2027 timetable options:
- The Ghan from Adelaide to Darwin
- The Ghan Expedition from Darwin to Adelaide
The Ghan operates seasonally from March to November.
The published 2027 timetable shows:
- Adelaide to Darwin departures on Saturdays from March to November
- Additional Adelaide to Darwin departures on Tuesdays from April to October
- Ghan Expedition departures from Darwin on Wednesdays from March to November
- Additional Ghan Expedition departures from Darwin on Saturdays from April to October

The 2027 timetable commences during March.
The first published northbound departure pattern leaves Adelaide on Saturdays from March to November. The first published southbound Ghan Expedition departure pattern leaves Darwin on Wednesdays from March to November.
The additional Tuesday and Saturday departure patterns operate from April to October.
